I dunno why I do this to myself but the Master Duel board is probably one of the whinest places I've been to in a while. Yeah some duels do take a while, but there isn't really a TCG right now that doesn't have long duels. You can also just have like a 2 turn duel in YGO where other TCGs don't even let you do that due to resources, so I dunno what they want the game to do exactly.

Also this whole talk about old YGO is funny because this "old YGO" never existed. In fact Synchro era is probably old YGO by now, and the combos were simpler to consume back in those days but the combos could range to just as long as they can be now.

It's also funny when they push back against hand traps when hand traps are the things keeping duels shorter. You interrupt the first card of a combo and there's a pretty high chance the combo ends there or is shortened quite a bit. There are a lot of skill aspect to interrupting the right card

And I say this as a guy who's just trash at the game atm. I don't know a pretty specific chunk of this or that era like most of Arc-V era stuff and late Vrains era, so I keep running into decks that I don't know how to disrupt. I might have the hand to win but I played like trash so I fucking lost. It's frustrating but there's space to learn. It's just a process and people just don't want to accept that it's their fault and they need to learn. It's not like I don't fully understand but their absolute lack of awareness is frustrating too when they just blame the game for everything
