Corporate lawyers are necessary to the extent that they protect a corporation from legal scrutiny and from being screwed over by another business with their own team of lawyers.

But their necessity is self-fulfilling and they're not needed to keep society functioning. In fact, in many cases, their sole job is to find exploitable loopholes to prevent companies from being otherwise held accountable for unethical practices.
That's an emotional based response, that doesn't actually explain why a human isn't needed for the job.

Your personal opinion on liking them doesn't change they're human personal the corporations physically need.

The question of humans being needed for a job to keep the business going is not contingent on whether you think they're scum or if they are beneficial to society or not.
