The guy and people support him treat healthcare like they're making a custom order. "If I want it, just give it to me. It doesn't matter if it's weird or harder for you to make. The customer is always right!"

They think that if they're willing to take the risk, then the doctors should just do what they ask since they're throwing money at them. Reminds me of people at CVS that would demand a prescription be filled regardless if what was sent in was questionable/unclear, or dangerous with their other meds.

These "new" and "heartbreaking" stories exist not only because we politicized a vaccine, but also because we treat healthcare as capitalism. The customer is not always right. Your choice as a patient is that no one can force you to receive treatment or listen to a doctor, not that you can reject their terms and demand whatever you feel like, regardless of the position it puts the doctor in. Just because you accept an unnecessary risk of dying doesn't force the healthcare professionals to accept the risk of killing you.

Odd how a certain US senator that calls universal healthcare "slavery" likely is crying huge crocodile tears about how doctors aren't doing what a difficult patient is demanding.
