I think a part of it is he knew he should have said allergy, almost killed his son, got yelled by his wife then tried to twist it blame it on the teenage girls and couldnt handle the immense guilt it even hates that fact has to see consequences of his action. Its messed up but people are like that Agreed. If he was rational about it, he could have had a pretty solid case to sue them for some big bucks. But he lost his shit because of the reasons you mentioned.
