i am a little concerned about how sudden you seem to be making this out to be. that's... uncommon. if you're happy, then i'm happy for you, but if this realization is as recent as you're saying, maybe it wouldn't hurt to talk through some things. not even necessarily before, but while, could be important. or not. only you know you.

For clarity, Ive already been transitioning for a year, but I wasnt sure if my goal required HRT to reach until a very upsetting incident at work a little over a month ago. The further I progressed into feminine expression, the more comfortable and natural things felt, but that incident highlighted my need to change my body in a way that cant be achieved without HRT. At that point I began identifying as a trans woman rather than non-binary. In that time, Ive spent numerous hours reading testimonials to see if it fits into my journey. The incident that happened a few days ago, was in response to my posting a picture on Facebook, someone I had considered a friend messaged me something very transphobic; at that point I decided that if Im going to be fully in control of my identity and self worth, it was time to start finding a way to get on HRT. In that sense, I can see why it might seem sudden to an outside observer, but my arriving into this moment has been a natural progression over the course of at least a year.
