This is true, but he's also not owed a spotlight from those customers. If he's pissed off because his legacy is circling the drain and his reputation as a fiction writer is tarnished then that's also on him. If people stop inviting him to galas and award shows or asking what he thinks about issues because nobody gives a shit about him anymore then he's more than welcome to flip off the people who made him famous as long as he doesn't start whining about being unfairly treated.

Dude is flipping off his fans while sitting in front of a banner for an international film festival that he can only go to because of the same people he's flipping off.
