It still boggles me that so much care and consideration goes into the shows but for the films they had zero strategy and cohesion, even as a trilogy, and just shat whatever came out.

Reminds me of the chain story writing exercise I once did in high school: you have 10 minutes to start a story, the next person has 10 minutes to continue the story, and the last person has 10 minutes to conclude the story.

The finished product likely will not have a consistent plot if one person decides to do his own thing by showing complete disregard for the intent that one or more of the preceding contributors had before adding his part thereby leaving his successor to perform damage control for the now derailed story, especially if that person has to conclude a story that has added more issues than can realistically be solved in so little time
