Revolutions had the Architect. It also had blind Neo doing anomaly stuff in the real world outside the Matrix. What it doesn't have... is the shitty CGI used in the Smith fight in Reloaded and sequences like when the Agent jumps on the hood of a car, smashing it to bits during the highway chase sequence (also in Reloaded). Visually anyway, Revolutions is superior. 2 had its moments tho.

Neither are anywhere near the level of quality and class of the first one on just about any level. What they were trying to do was establish a new multimedia franchise similar to how the prequel trilogy of Star Wars launched boatloads of its own stuff. This is evidenced by the games, cartoons, comics, and merchandise that came out around Revolutions and Reloaded.

I liked 4 tho. Neil Patrick Harris was really effective, and him being a comedian added a lot to the concept of trying to break down Neo's ego, for me at least. I liked nu Smith & fake Morpheus. I liked the new human city in the real world, the machines using nanotech stuff to give the programs a body in the real world. Actually, the practical effects were pretty awesome. Nothing like the first movie, but it's a great place to end the saga started by Reloaded. At least we have some degree of closure.

Their handling of bringing back Neo & Trinity was dope. I won't spoil anything lol. When they show exactly how the characters returned, as part of a twist later, I loved it. That's very Matrix, for me. Body horror. I expected a lot more but it gave me enough of what I wanted that im willing to give the movie two thumbs up. I would have fused Neo & Trinity into one glorious androgynous entity at the end of the movie. For me, it was hard to swallow the familiar beat they went with at the end, which was mostly centered around comedy. On the other hand, they opened it up for another sequel in a cool way.

Would actually be down for a Matrix 5
