What I like about the new forms, despite the lack of creativity, is that SSJ3 is not the definitive SSJ form anymore.

Before Dragonball Super, SSJ2 was a pussy form and SSJ3 was the ultimate Saiyan form.

Thanks to Super, SSJ2 has the potential to reach the level of 3. In my opinion, 3 is cool because it looks like a freak of a form attained through sheer training. Which is exactly how Goku attained it. It looks imperfect by its very nature. So the fact that people say SSJ3 sucks because it has never won a fight in canon is stupid because if it did, the whole series would be this:

Goku vs Frieza. Goku attains SSJ1. "I win"

Gohan vs Cell. Gohan attains SSJ2. "I win."

Goku vs Buu. Goku has SSJ3. "I win."

Look how stupid that looks. So that's a shit complaint. Now if you wanted the series to end with Gohan vs Cell I get it because back then SSJ2 was a form unique to Gohan. The same way "Ultimate" is now.
