Eh, I wouldn't call it, "Gatekeeping." It's very frustrating when you're in a very bad spot, looking for some help from family members, and all they offer is to just snap out of it, or that it's not all that bad, and other things like that. It makes it worse for me hearing how something that makes me want to [ToS] seems like no big deal to the people close to me.

Ah. Everyone but my dad understands depression and the subtleties in my immediate family. So, I can't but also can see how family rejecting how you feel makes it alot more crushing. I can't act like Id know what it's like to have my main support through life taken away. This is why I believe as an adult, you make your own family and blood becomes no thicker than water. Again, I wouldn't understand all the subtleties of mentally breaking out a family with unsupportive views. But there's people out there that are more supportive that will take you in and might give you the mental support that your born family doesn't. I think we pick who is our family as adults.

I have a discord where some of us from here do that exact thing. We just vent to each other and see how we can relate to each other. If you're not already part of a group and are interested, let me know. I know I haven't always been the nicest person here, but part of it is just me getting absorbed into the energy of CE >_<. Arguments aren't a thing on the discord so far. Just self discovery, joking around and gaming discussion
