The land my house is on is slightly over 120,000 dollars Canadian. When my parents were finished building their home 20 years ago, they tried to buy up the land behind theirs so they would still have a wooded area (the housing company was building dozens of new homes, so they were destroying the forest behind my parents house), close to 200k Canadian for a single lot. Now, this is on the outskirts of a city in one of the cheaper Canadian provinces. You get a prime location near a major city? your talking money.
