No, I refuse to hold a police officer responsible for this because he was there against his wishes being forced to deal with a criminal. You don't think that cop would rather be chilling in his car peacefully during a silent shift? He doesn't want adversity, he doesn't want a bad situation, he's forced to go there because someone else made a horrible decision. And now the cop is under stress and also made a mistake because he probably thought the guy was armed so he shot him. 2 mistakes are made, I'm going to follow the order of chronology. First guy to make a mistake is the burden of the brunt. The criminal.

If he can't keep innocent people safe during a conflict why is he a police officer? Dealing with criminals is part of their job. Keeping people safe is their job. He failed.
