It depends what kind of "not into politics" you mean.

If its "I don't care that much, but I'm gonna at least look up everyone during an election to make a somewhat informed decision and go back to not caring much until the next one" that's fine

when its "I say I'm not into politics because I have only one opinion and don't want it challenged" that's lame

When its "I only say that because I know saying I'll always vote republican makes me seem evil" that's lame

When its "BoTh sIdeZ tHo" that's lame

Its fine to not be as interested in every aspect of Politics, but as long as you actually care when its important its fine if you don't care most of the time. Politics are important that you need to know what you talk about around an election, or when the concept of Democracy is at suspiciously high risk of being removed.
