And if I'm wrong about that, she still isn't really interested anymore and she doesn't know why. The cliche "something's missing" wasn't said but it was highly implied. I don't think that was what the conversation was implying. She said earlier in the movie that she doesn't get her hopes up anymore to avoid disappointment. When she has that final conversation with Peter she was saying that it feels different this time. I'm pretty sure she was implying she does have her hopes up for the future since she got into MIT and that it feels different so she does have hope that things will be better.
