Not hating something would be incredibly detrimental to their way of life. They can't even hate Chris properly, all the things they vulture on, hating him cause apparently his church is anti-LGBT or him celebrating his new son, its absolutely redundant in retrospect. They nitpick every insignificant detail and make it more of a big deal than what it actually is, because... that's how they live. They think they're being, idk, justice warriors, needing to combat some form of darkness they feel threatened by, when its not actually there. They're the darkness. Boom. I know.
