For what it's worth, no. Frostmourne split the soul in two. One version of Sylvanas went to the Shadowlands where she was essentially in stasis, the other one was turned into a banshee. The latter one became evil because of the events she lived through. That's why the original Sylvanas is so horrified: when faced with those same choices, that's what she would have done.

The issue is that they're just dogshit at explaining this and the idea of Frostmourne splitting your soul in two is an idiotically lazy way of allowing them to justify both this and Uther's plotline.
