Topic | Could be wrong due to lack of exposure, but why aren't there many anime spinoffs |
Blightzkrieg 12/12/21 8:11:40 PM #5: | *Fate/Stay Night has entered the chat* More to the point -Most anime are themselves spinoffs or adaptations to begin with -Traditional manga/Otaku culture has involved writing a premise into the fucking ground so the author can make a successful living off it. These stories are typically entirely one person jobs, which discourages any kind of spin off work -When a franchise becomes popular, it's usually better just to sell merch off of it while it's hot rather than try to keep it going in the incredibly competitive Otaku market --- http://i.imgur.com/1XbPahR.png ...
