If I were Hasbro, I'd open up model shops, selling repair pieces, doing repaints, filling out custom orders, holding tournaments for 16&up, etc. Kids will actually think about these depots & they will ask their parents to take them their regularly. Partner with LEGO, Wizards Of The Coast, GamesWorkshop, FunkoPop or whatever, McFarlane, etc, to fill the stands. Get flexible with the inventory. Try to get a culture going. Plenty of people online are willing to get upcharged hard for a place to hang out. Transformers is still one of the most popular collectibles of all time. When I'm in a store with action figures, I regularly stop by to see if they have any good figures. I'd drop a good amount of money on nice Transformers, and I'm really far from being serious about the hobby. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
