And you only get to have that experience once anyway, so why ruin it by learning what happens in advance? The implication of this line of thought is that a movie can only be worth watching once. Or that rewatches only have value in relation to the emotion invoked by the first viewing. Or that they have lesser emotional value on subsequent watches. I would bet that most people here think the Empire Strikes Back is the best Star Wars film, and I doubt that many people here watched it without knowing that ~~Vader is Luke's father~~.
