I was hoping someone would bring up War In The Pocket. It's my favorite Gundam series & reminds me strongly of Evangelion. Honestly, I'm not sure what you think you saw, but maybe we noticed each other. Doesn't that happen? Would that surprise you? Zone of the Enders, anyone? Was that not the beat? I am a fan to the core. Maybe you're the same way. We must be on the same wavelength or maybe not.

Kaworu's arc was really strong in 3.33 and even with the ability to somewhat make sense of why that happened, it still isn't right. You see how well 3.0+1.0 was received across the world. Shinji came into the plot as a blank slate. Shinji has left the plot as a blank slate. The plot is largely metaphorical. Like everyone keeps saying, if you think about the story... What exactly do you expect to find? I'm really not sure what your position on Neon Genesis is. It seemed to me like you were just popping in to bring up the weirdness of Tokyo 3 & how the Angel attacks aren't explained very well, especially with the Europeans coming into the scene through Asuka, and we learn of her trials. Guess not.
People do not really watch Evangelion (or discuss it, or think too much about it) for any reason other than (primarily) their lasting adoration for the main cast. Kaji doesn't really have a real arc tho. In a way, and in a big way, this thread was most correct. I was just popping in to drop some notions.
