The whole "two week's notice" thing is a made-up courtesy; your boss is not your friend. You're not just expendable now, you're guaranteed refuse. Don't be surprised if you get told to just go home on a whim. maybe, but I doubt it. I'd not quit without being prepared for this possibility. I suppose if someone above my boss wanted to retaliate they could. besides, I'm prepared to live off my savings for up to six months.
