Or forgotten food in the back of the fridge?? Shoes should be replaced regularly because your feet need the proper support, which wears down over time. Clothes, however - if they are in good condition and still fit, continue to wear them! If they are in poor condition or in need of repair, repair them or relegate them to cleaning/painting clothes. You can upcycle old clothes into other things you can use. You can swap with your friends. You can shave pilling off your sweaters to make them look better. I literally own a Montreal 1976 souvenir sweater that's in lovely condition - to be fair it's acrylic and for many years was stored carefully in a bag. But clothes are STILL.
