Not just for the COVID vaccine, but for every other virus we've managed to eliminate effectively or entirely by vaccination. The "kill 'em with kindness" approach has already been tried. Promoting countless studies and articles on the safety and effectiveness of vaccination, the cringey upbeat ad campaigns with celebrities and politicians, monetary compensation for people getting vaccinated, etc. etc. Anti-vaxxers refused the carrot.
