I saw it again, but this was like a week ago so my memory may not be 100%. The film never actually showed Sandy being fatally stabbed, it would only appear that way to the audience through the perspective of a troubled youth who might have been under the influence. As she lied in bed after the death scene she never actually stopped breathing. She just kind of gazes off into the distance cloudy-eyed making it look like she is departing this world, but really she's probably coming to grips with the traumatic act she's committed. Also when Sandy's "ghost" appears after there are no stab or slice wounds on her neck or chest, just a lot of blood pooled around the upper portion of that area. ---
