Topic	For those who attended HS in the US, how was Hiroshima covered in history class?

Though the first experience in school with the bombings was from reading "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes" in like 3rd grade. I remember reading that in I think 7th grade believe it or not for class. Very sad. I remember learning it was a tragic but necessary part of the war. Even if it wasn't, maybe it was a necessary part for human life.
