When CGR started to get considerable YouTube money he rented out a large office space and spent a shitload of money buying and restoring an El Camino. As the YouTube gaming scene got more popular, he got upset that CGR wasn't making as much money as it was before so he fired all of his employees and sold most of his game collection; most of it being donated from fans. He used this money to start a failed career in comic books, which he tried chilling on the CGR channel despite not changing its branding.
His content became so low effort that he ended up making reviews about basic art supplies and trying to shill T-Shirts. The Patreon is still collecting money from fans despite never informing them about the closure of the brand.
He stopped uploading video content in 2020 and still uses the CGR branding to sell cheap photo/art books.
Such a shame because I don't think any YouTube channel scratches that itch that CGR scratched. Just a chill review show focused on retro games with the odd modern title every now and again. I miss it sometimes.
