OK, a lot of people are asking about this. So traditional gender roles mean that when a man and a woman start a household together, more of the work to maintain it falls to the woman. When a baby comes into the picture, again, it means more additional work for the woman than the man. Just time-allocation wise, it worked before women were expected to also earn an income, because she had the time. But now it's getting harder to keep a middle class lifestyle on one income. Less time at home for housework and childcare for women means that men should do more of that. Bumbling-dad culture makes men feel comfortable continuing to be inept, leaving the work to women. Nothing wrong with a particular joke, like no particular disaster is due to climate change, but when you see it everywhere it's time to start considering why.

This addresses why continuing traditional gender norms is unjust. I also want to acknowledge that traditional gender norms dictating who stayed home and who went out to earn were unjust all along, but it's not related to the question here.
