Nowadays I can basically navigate Ul'Dah with my eyes closed...not that I have much reason to be their anymore. As for the map, in case you weren't aware, Square toggles it on. Then you can hit square to unselect it and leave it on, or you can keep it selected and adjust it with the sticks. Feel free to ask literally any question, no matter how small. There are definite blind spots in some of those tutorials that assume the player has some MMO knowledge prior.
