I believe that was intentional. Like they were rewinding a video tape. Except the story is actually still moving forward, but what youre seeing is an almost perfect reversal of what just happened.
Like, lol, ending spoilers and that was the night we killed Michael Myers. [shows dead myers] Evil died that Halloweens eve. Only..... thats not what happened. [myers gets up] Evil always comes back. [myers attacks the mob] In some shape, or in some form. [myers kills tommy doyle] so in like 2 minutes, the 6 minute fight they just had was basically undone. I loved it.
You just gotta watch. Laurie is basically the narrator, doing her thing from thb Hospital. And she never meets Michael face to face in this one (thanks for pointing that out to me!) so, like the scene is switching back and forth between hospital and Michael gettting back up. Its cool. And then there is one more scene.
The very last shot is a pretty classic slasher villain move too. Dont think Michael has ever quite done that to a survivor at their house at the end like that. Freddy does pretttty frequently tho. Isnt he #2? Anyway
