I mean, all it takes is a look in the mirror to confirm my ancestry.

That said, I did start a family tree about a decade ago when ancestry.com was really popping off. I didn't get too far but I did find one of my grandparents' (the only ones that I actually got to know, in fact) wedding certificate which is something that even their oldest kids hadn't seen as well as a death certificate for the only grandparent who predeceased my birth. Honestly, I found it fairly difficult to piece together due to a combined lack of records and basically going on what my mother could remember of her grandparents and their siblings. I'm much closer to my father's family (simple geography, really) so it was much easier working with his side of the family, though I didn't get past his own grandparents who were all born in the 19th century.

Always said I'd go back but I never have.
