Well no it's just one specific issue, and I don't think it's actually an issue with the meat industry in this case.

Like literally the only value millions upon millions of turkeys have to retailers is is to bring in customers to buy other things, twice a year (with turkeys of course being far more popular at Thanksgiving than Easter). There's still tons of retailers that won't even carry whole turkeys outside these two seasons because they're so expensive that no one will buy them.
