Topic	Friend of mine is overweight and only eats 1200-ish calories a day

But you could be right, maybe as soon as the doors and curtains close in his house, he eats like shit in high quantities. But there is such thing as bad genetics. Two people eating 1200 calories are not going to be exactly the same thing.
