No, there's no real evidence for them outside of some hypothetical math. It's a philosophical (and video game) concept moreso than a true scientific concept. Of course, that means I can't prove they don't exist.

We know a lot, but it's one of those "the more you know the more you realize you don't know" things. We know a lot about how things work (including the crazy spacetime stuff) but not a lot about the bounds of the universe.

Maybe the whole universe is a snow globe on an alien's bookshelf. Even if true, if none of us never know that's the case...does it matter??
