comfi beats - dreamy night
This overall production reminds me of Mili do you know them? They mostly do VGM. I like the chill nature of this song paired with the very serious lyrics, its a nice juxtaposition.

Danny Playamaqui - Parsley
I feel like theres got to be a musical term for what this song is doing. These drawn out notes layered over top of each other create this unnerving effect, like something is very off. But also the actual notes feel off too. This is all a good thing I tend to like these uncanny valley type songs that sound like theyve been robotically engineered in certain ways.

Sara Bareilles - Gravity
I tend to be a bit ambivalent on these sad female singer with piano and string accompaniment songs. This is fine but doesnt quite grab me, though I do like her voice.

Manuel Valera & Groove Square - Gliding
Ooh, this is nice. I expected vocals but I am happy to hear a harmonica. I really like how chill this is, but its also very wistful, very evocative of the title. I can see this being a situation of put a band in a room and let them improvise, and its fun to hear with these unexpected instruments.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade - Ephemeral Glory A
Fun fact: I really like Ephemeral Glory B, but I dont think Ive ever heard A. This reflects my piecemeal approach to finding music, where I almost never seek out music based on other music I like. I really like the immersive sounds here, the song very much conjures up the feel of traveling to a strange, potentially hostile land. I actually think I might like it more than B, though its a very different type of song.

Jessie Ware - Spotlight
This song surprised me, because I really didnt like it at first. Like, potentially bottom three. Then the beat kicked in and I think I figured out what it was trying to do a bit more. Its not a particularly flashy song, and that threw me off, but I really really like the easygoing club aesthetic it evokes. Pretty great find!

As an aside, I dont have Spotify this is the version I listened to:

They Might Be Giants - End of the Tour
I really dont like this guys voice. It feels a little too monotone for my tastes. The rest of it feels pretty . . . unexceptional? TMBG has a big cult following but I dont know them all that well are all their songs like this?

TM Network - Get Wild
This has 90s anime written all over it, which is a fun subgenre. The production has that rough-around-the-edges feel thats common in songs like this. It doesnt really stand out to me, but its good fun.
