It actually used to be a thing that a lot of homosexuals would deny that bisexuality existed at all, because from their point of view, it weakened their own socio-political position. The logic was that anyone who identified as bi was either gay and too afraid to fully come out, or were gay and hadn't yet fully accepted their own sexual identity so were still clinging to the delusion of being at least partially straight. Some gay people could be pretty petty and abusive towards people claiming to be bisexual ("Just come out already, you coward!").

Some are still like that. Another concern nowadays, among the ones who do acknowledge bis exist, is the idea that being touched by the opposite gender makes a bi somehow tainted, unfaithful, or both. Meanwhile, we bis or pans just want to be able to love who we're going to love without judgment.
