How so?

Since the other person wouldn't answer me, maybe you will.

Press too light and it stops writing. Press too hard and it splotches. Runs out of ink faster. Harder to write on non-level surfaces or unusual mediums. Ink dries a little slower so you're more likely to smudge your shit while writing.

It's useless archaic technology with no purpose outside of enthusiast calligraphy or to look pretentious on your desk.

I'd argue that you just need to get used to using one or find one that works better for you, but at least that thought I can understand. Especially if you're not someone who writes a lot. If you don't write a lot then yeah, buying a fountain pen is silly. I assume AOC does a good amount of writing though.

The nice thing about fountain pens is the zero waste factor, but then certain people think giving a fuck about environmental issues is pretentious.
