"You MUST experience it THIS WAY, because WE DID!" You wouldn't have to use it. There's no hard-and-fast rule saying difficulties couldn't be sectioned off into their own multiplayer scenes. It would have no impact on anyone. And as for "the true Souls experience" and "artistic expression" arguments, The Count of Monte Cristo isn't ruined forever just because someone sees it and walks away thinking it's just a fun prison break story. If the devs don't feel like making it, that's fine. They don't have to. But it's not like the sheer existence of an easy mode would intrinsically ruin Souls for everyone, forever.
