If you're sharing a Switch with her, it probably isn't worth it for either of you. Your niece would probably love the game on her own though.

Have you played Stardew Valley? That's about as close to Animal Crossing as I can think. AC is much more simple, though.

If you think you'd enjoy a game where the objective is just to run around a small island, gather raw materials, build tools like a fishing rod or bug catching net, try to fill your fish and bug catching journals, sell them for money to expand and decorate your house, all while building relationships with your animal neighbours, then go for it.

It was very addicting for me, and I've put around 200 hours into it. The only Switch game I've played longer is Breath of the Wild, which had a three year headstart.
