Man i saw a neo geo in an Australian store once. 800 AUD for the unit and 400 per game. It was never an official release out here so we never saw the prices plummet but i remember picking up 8 bit and 16 bit games for single digits after their gens passed.

Then somewhere along the lines theb went hyper expensive and enjoying having those games got ridiculous
Yeah, in the states games started becoming valuable as a whole about 10 years ago. There was always certain games worth a lot, but overall games were easy to buy.
you could always go to yard sales or flea markets and buy whole boxes of nes, snes, Genesis games and such for like $10 dollars. No joke like 20 games and such for nothing. Good games and all, not the crap sports games.
even 20 years ago walking for 5 minutes at a flea markets youd pass dozens of people selling old games for like a dollar or 2.
not anymore though. Even at flea markets now game sellers by everything the second they open or before and then sell them for the highest prices they see on eBay.
its really depressing that its all being ruined by people wanting money never caring about games,
even our thrift stores out here now put old games on eBay and Amazon now asking high prices.
it gets so depressing today thinking you find a deal at a yard sale, some cool game or so and then they pull out their phone and ask for what the highest price on eBay selling it for or more
