TopicIt bothers me so much during Covid that people in the UK still don't tip.

It's a generational thing. Tipping is becoming normalised among younger people in the UK,

No its not

espite the fact that they earn the same or only slightly more than service workers.

You get tipped for your service tho

People deserve better pay in general.

yes

Singling out service workers and shitty tipping culture is silly imo. Service workers are far from the only people that would benefit from an extra tenner here and there.

Service workers deserve tips for their service. That's the entire point. It's not the same thing as a guy stocking a self. They are specifically servicing you and your friends and family. Sometimes for hours

ive never been to the UK and dont know their tipping customs.

That much is obvious

If their culture is not to tip because they get a full wage from their employer, then you are not required to tip.

"full" wage being absolute minimum wage

but its also fair to point out the countrys customs if you are visiting.

Their custom sucks and they should be made to feel bad

I'm not going to accept homophobia just because it's the custom to be a jerk in Saudi Arabia

Why should we accept not tipping must because it's the custom to be a jerk in the UK?

t comes off as pretty entitled to demand both and demean people who dont automatically tip extra on everything all the time.

"Its demeaning to ask me to not demean service workers" is the most Tucker Carlson take of the topic imo

^ Hey now that's completely unfair!
