if the 40 hr work week "has" to be maintained, I'd like to opt for four 10hr shifts. Don't think I want to get lesser than 32 hrs.
That being said, I don't get workaholics and the culture of overworking bring acceptable. People that "have" to work on off hours and days they are off. what's worse is that I actually have an extended family member who works a regular 9 to 5 job remotely, but be also chooses to work a second job by choice at a grocery store (not cause he needs the money) on the weekends, but because he doesn't want to get bored at home and doesnt have any hobbies. He also says he is trying to keep his health at bay instead of staying at home all day and sleeping and watching TV.
But GL having a good relationship with your kids and family.. And you could definitely get some hobbies that involve physical activity like biking
