Well, I am 42 and divorced and still play video games. This was a huge problem with my ex wife, who for some reason would rather me go out and spend money at the bar getting wasted and all the possible scenarios that could come from that (DUI, possible infidelity, possibly becoming an absentee father and alcoholic).

Some women, not all don't understand that video games fill a void that is needed. Whether that void is from depression, boredom or a need for routine. It fills something and while I never envisioned in my teens that I would be playing video games in my 40s, I am playing video games in my 40s and honestly see myself playing games when i am in my 60s and so on.

The elders of my time use to call us the video game generation and honestly, they were probably right. I tell women who I am friendly with or even some that I have dated, they wish they had something as interesting to occupy their time. That leads to blowback and some lonely nights with the urge to work out my right arm, but at this point, I can't see myself ever not being a gamer.
