I've wanted to try tantanmen for a while but I can't find anywhere that serves it nearby ;_; would you say its worth the effort of making it? It's one of my favorite home cooked meals, definitely worth the effort. When I make everything concurrently I have 3 pots/pans on the stove top at the same time. But once you get a routine it's actually quite simple. Check youtube for great recipes, that's how I learned how to make it. Kinny100 posted... tc, what other ramens have u made in the past I've made a Kyushu style Tonkotsu (pork bones) ramen with chashu (rolled pork belly slice). It's more time consuming than a tantanmen but also very delicious. YugiNoob posted... It looks really nice. How do you make ramen noodles though? After seeing fresh spaghetti being made, this topic made me wonder about ramen lol You can totally use store bought noodles, I just enjoy making them myself. I use a pasta machine (pic below) that I bought for like $70. If you have a kitchen aid there are extensions for noodles/spaghetti. I bought it for ramen initially but now I use it for spaghetti as well. You'd think it's more work, but where boiling dry spaghetti takes like 12 minutes, boiling fresh spaghetti takes 1 minute, and fresh tastes so much better. LeoRavus posted... Ground meat doesn't seem like it should be in ramen. I know what you mean, it's definitely not common. However it's the key topping for this particular type of ramen (tantanmen). Ground pork fried with garlic, ginger, and tienmenjiang (sweet bean paste) mooreandrew58 posted... Its a joke cause most people who eat ramen a lot. Just eat it as is with the seasoning packet. I'm talking like the pre packaged ramen. Ohh okay, got it. I knew I was missing something >_> ... Copied to Clipboard! |
