Not quite. We could cut off all human related carbon emissions right now, and even build more carbon recapture plants, and things are still going to get worse before they get better.

We do have a lot of ability to mitigate future disaster, though.
One problem at this point is the green technology we need to transition causes environmental damage to produce. It makes up for it in the long run, but climate change is rapidly becoming a short-term problem. So switching to renewables can make things worse before it makes things better.

The other problem is we don't have green solutions to every problem yet. There's no way people will be able to meat at current levels sustainably for example. Cultured meat is still a decade away from price parity and hasn't even proven it is scalable yet.
