I think you need both to do what you are doing. Well, going part time at work helped a lot! I just work on weekends now, so I have an unfair advantage over most people. When I first went part time, I was definitely putting in full time hours in stock research, but I got burned out pretty quickly. Plus, I found these George Sharp trades/custodianship plays in general in late April and they became by far the most fascinating trades I've found in the market. I picked two slow ones; some of the ones I was looking at have already merged and gone from being worthless to 30 cents plus. But if GOFF and GVSI do what I think they can do, I'll still have chosen wisely. And if they don't, well, I already won with GVSI. That said, there are so many ways to improve yourself in the market. I really want to put a ton of time into really learning technical analysis soon. I certainly don't think it's necessary and many great investors ignore it all together, but it is still a tool that can help you improve.
