The writer / series planner for Serial Experiements Lain and Digimon Tamers has been under fire recently for his views on Covid-19, the Covid Vaccine , 9/11, and complaining that the people who promoted those views keep getting deplatformed. That's the Cancel Culture he's talking about here in the Tamers reading. His views primarily center on the belief that some sort of super rich group gets together to announce and create disasters for their own dastardly ends.

The source for this is his own blog. It's in Japanese, machine translation works well enough but apparently someone translated it a while ago. I've included that too.

For those who care about this sort of thing; Digimon Tamers was under production before, during and after 9/11. Allegedly they ended up needing to change one scene of a building being destroyed, but because he was absorbed with work at the time he largely ignored 9/11 until after production ended.
Its funny cuz theres people out there thatd cut off their right arm for a chance to write a digimon anime, yet Bandai keeps working with this kook.
