This was an attack on democracy and I imagine people who choose to be Capitol Police feel more strongly about America as an ideal than most cops even care about their own family. To be attacked by Americans under order of the sitting President, and then for months afterward to be attacked and ridiculed by the people in the building you've sworn to protect because its politically convenient to do so, and after being beaten by people who stormed the Capitol, you're being gaslit and being told "oh it was just a tourist visit!" probably fucks with your psyche hard af. I know CE isn't patriotic by any stretch but this isn't that hard to understand why someone who is would have a hard time coping. --- The name is wackyteen for a reason.
