It likely came from outer space, is constantly emitting radio waves into space that can cause headaches, it's perfectly symmetrical, and apparently it absorbs plankton when it is moving through the ocean. Factor in several other space-origin Pokemon with cores and that most of them are also psychic type (Clefairy are from the moon, so not quite deep space)...
