Many Asian-sourced online games have known (and banked on) this for a couple decades now. Much like how many male gamers "pump up" their male avatars into a fierce looking macho warlord (regardless of class), a large portion of female gamers WANT to glamorize their avatars into a demigoddess that's "pretty, sexy, cute, or all of the above". FF14 offers that pretty well, partly because most of the playable races are "humanized". I see this in my kids. For the most part they like the same games and my daughter is always looking to pick the prettiest skins or make the most beautiful characters where as my son tries to make them look badass. The mine craft building they make together are an amalgamation of both and tend to look... interesting. --- Mind post.
