I am not a fan of when they do this self insertion nonsense where you get some 40 year old writer inserting their ideal teen self the teen they wish they could have been into a book set in modern times. So you get these weird characters that are into punk rock and other stuff that was popular in the 90s sporting strange hairstyles and other odd fashion accessories that look like nothing people in real life wear. It is some kind of weird mid life crisis deal where the writer tries to recapture their youth and prove they are still young and cool because nothing screams in touch with today's youth quite like a middle aged comic book writer. --- I play video games. ...
